Song Recitals, Duets and Quartets

Song recitals have long featured prominently in the soprano's performance repertoire. She is a regular guest at the Kissinger Summer Festival and has performed in this capacity at both the Munich and Salzburg Festivals. Solo recitals aside, Diana Damrau also has a special interest in the duet and quartet song literature.

She has explored the duet literature of Schumann, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Bartholdy, Mahler and Wolf with Argentinian baritone, Ivan Paley, performing these scarcely heard words throughout Germany, Austria and Spain to great acclaim. Their efforts are now available on cd:

With several years of successful solo recitals at the Schwarzenberg Schubertiade, the soprano recently teamed up with Angelika Kirchschlager, Ian Bostridge and Christopher Maltman to perform selections of the quartet literature of Schubert and Brahms.

Instrument Ensembles

Her work with smaller chamber ensembles continued in January 2007 where she performed at the Wiener Konzerthaus with Paul Meyer (Clarinet), Emanuel Pahud (Flute) and Eric Le Sage (Piano).

She has plans to collaborate with flautist Emmanuel Pahud, Clarinettist Paul Meyer and Harpist Xavier de Maistre in future performance both at this venue and the Musikverein, Vienna.

Diana Damrau is also adding the vocal / trumpet duet literature of Bach and Handel to her repertoire.

The song repertoire allows for often unusual yet inspired pairings and Damrau will be performing with French harpist de Maistre in various concerts throughout Germany and France in 2008.
On his first CD Diana Damrau sings a group of songs by Claude Debussy.
